And then Atharv got promoted," said an unusually soothing voice across the room. Anand's familiarity with words like "promotion" and "Atharv" reduced the scrum to about 14 people, but one of them - while the speaker had used the wrong tense in referring to Atharv, ending the story before he could leave their shared college years - was not a student I knew.
Anand lowered his brows and asked, a little hesitantly, "So, when did we meet?"
I'm relieved when he stops expressing his concerns, which have been moving across his hands too quickly for his whisper consent.
Time suddenly slows to an excruciatingly painful slither as I try and emulate faces with unclaimed memories, with no echo but my own gasping for air.

For both students and parents, the first day in the hostel is crucial. It is an opportunity for students to meet new people and make new friends. However, in a new cultural environment with a new language, social standing, or personal history, it may also be difficult. And this is the main point of anxiety for parents. However, these teenagers have yet to experience all of the world's differences and contradictions.

Despite their differences, they were able to become friends. They communicated using facial expressions, inflections, and mannerisms. Furthermore, the fact that they are all basically caring for each other helped them to tolerate each other better than not caring for each other. This is, without a doubt, the best way to start a friendship!!!

Looking back, we were so dissimilar –
The first day of college at the university was always crowded with new students. The bright and open building was bustling with students looking for friends or learning more about the classes. There were so many people around that no one could possibly know them all.

It's the first day of college. You're surrounded by people you don't know. There is a language barrier, and you are unfamiliar with the dress code. The living situation is not what you expected; the room is small and shared by three or sometime four people.
Some people will approach you and cheerfully introduce themselves, telling you about their interests. Some people will give you the cold shoulder and refuse to say anything more than a few words to you. And there are those who believe that they can only interact with English speakers, so they avoid anyone who does not speak English fluently.
The friends we made on our first day of college may be from different social status and backgrounds, or they may even speak different languages, but they all have one thing in common: they all want to make friends.
------------------------------------------------------
Because of the language barrier, it was difficult for me to interact with them and make friends. But then I met a guy who spoke Dialect here as well. We began as friends because we could easily communicate with each other due to our common language and because we shared a wide range of interests.

Rakesh is overjoyed at the prospect of meeting new people in college. Hearing different languages and accents was unexpected, but he also had a good time. On his first day of college, Rakesh was one of those eager faces wandering around campus looking for the orientation desk. Because he wasn't sure what he wanted to do with his life, he enrolled in B. Tech.

My entire life, I had no relationship with any of the girls. But today, I saw the girls ahead of me and went by lowering my eyes. I saw the girl whether she was looking back or not. Then I caught sight of the window glass. When I looked at the windowpane of the mechanical block. Small, almost non-existent, hair. Body as if someone had hung clothes on the hanger. I was embarrassed by the thought about whether or not the girl was looking back.
